What one could suggest as being a Soul-inspired, captivating experience, Joshua is a singer/songwriter who mingles catchy clever lines and infectious vocals in the company of playful story telling. With a nod to “Motown”, Joshua Smith captures tradition and folk-friendly modernism with his songwriting prowess.
Born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia to a songwriter father; music, song writing and performing is all Joshua has ever known. He currently resides in Kelowna and is becoming a well-known local songwriter with a growing list of loyal fans. Josh tours regularly and has been known to hop a freight train or two.... well actually a passenger train known as Via Rail. We are pretty sure he will have some lovely stories to share. |
Scotty's music is like an old patchwork quilt; warm and colourful; made up of the unique musical experiences in his storied career. He began touring as drummer in his late teens, performing in American blues clubs and on the European blues circuit. After a decade on the road, and a Juno award nomination with The Perpetrators, Scotty stepped from behind the drums to craft his soul blues meets country folk, sound. Scotty has put out three albums and has begun work on a new full length, due out in late 2017.
As a songwriter, Scotty is always searching for fresh ways to say tell timeless stories. As as performer, Scotty immediately puts the listener into a familiar place, with bitter sweet original songs and incredibly unique renditions of classic melodies. He sprinkles these guilty pleasures throughout his soulful, energetic set. |
